Some types of information are free, while others require a subscription purchase. Access to Toyota Vehicle Security Information (key codes, immobilizer reset procedures, etc.) is not available in Canada at this time.

Service and repair data is available for all Toyota vehicles sold in Canada.

How to set up accounts with Toyota: Go to the Toyota Service Information website, Click the radio button beside the Canadian flag icon, then click “Welcome from Toyota Canada” to download a PDF document outlining the resources available to Canadian subscribers. When ready, click the “Subscribe” button under “Need an account?”. The next page shows you how to subscribe. Click “Continue” and register your account.

Visit the Toyota/Scion/Lexus service information website, under “What is TIS”, click on “Scan tools and Vehicle Programming”. Click on “J2534 Reprogramming”. Reprogramming is only performed if a Technical Service Bulletin or Service Campaign provides direction to do so. Flash reprogramming can be accomplished using a scantool or a PC and a “Toyota validated” J2534-1 interface.

Beginning with some 2001 models and expanding to all models by 2007, Toyota/Scion/Lexus vehicles have flash reprogrammable powertrain ECMs.

Toyota/Scion/Lexus ECMs can be reprogrammed using either TIS techstream, Techstream Lite, previous Toyota/Lexus factory Diagnostic Tester, or the Vetronix Mastertech scantool. The ECM reprogramming function is only available with the authentic Toyota factory scantool software which runs on any of the above mentioned scantools. Toyota Diagnostic Tester Scantool / Vetronix Mastertech
The Toyota Diagnostic Tester scantool can be used for all flash reprogrammable Toyota/Scion/Lexus ECMs, 2001 through April 2007. The Diagnostic Tester Scantool is not recommended for service reprogramming operations introduced after April 2007. NOTE: The Toyota Diagnostic Tester is no longer supported and replacement parts are not available from Toyota. The last software release for the Toyota Diagniostic Tester was version 14.1 and was issued in April 2007. Version 14.1 will provide diagnostic support through the 2007 Model Year and reprogramming support for calibration files released up to April 2007.

J2534 Reprogramming
All Toyota/Scion/Lexus ECMs that can be reprogrammed with a scantool can also be reprogrammed using a PC and “Toyota validated” J2534-1 interface. Go to techinfo.toyota.com or techinfo.lexus.com and follow the link entitled “Scan Tools & Vehicle Reprogramming”. TOYOTA RECOMMENDS USING ONLY VALIDATED INTERFACES THAT APPEAR ON THIS LIST.
