The new log-in procedure for VIDA from June 18th, 2024 will require you to enter not only your VIDA user ID but additionally a specific e-mail suffix. Enter your VIDA user ID + @volvocars.biz.

Your browser will open a password page, enter your password, and sign in. At the VIDA login page, there will also be a support link available named “Need help with the Login?” This link will open a popup window also describing how to log in.

Volvo OEM Information

This page contains links to diagnostic, repair and service information provided by Volvo, plus additional, third-party resources. All resources are available to all automotive repair professionals. Some types of information are free, while others require a subscription purchase. Access to Volvo Vehicle Security Information (key codes, immobilizer reset procedures, etc.) requires an approved account under the Vehicle Security Professional program.

Service, repair and security data is available for all Volvo vehicles sold in Canada.

Visit the service information website, register for an acount, purchase a subscription. Place cursor over “VIDA” in header bar, click on “How to Download Software to the Vehicle Using VIDA”.

Reprogramming of vehicle modules was phased in starting with 1999 model year.

2004 and newer vehicles are compatible with J2534 reprogramming. Limited reprogramming capabilities for some older models. Matrix under revision. For access to J-2534 Information on the Volvo service information website:

  1. Click “VIDA” on the Home Page.
  2. Click “VIDA Install Link” in the left menu.

To determine if reprogramming is needed, the technician must establish a connection to the vehicle via Volvo’s OEM diagnostic equipment or an approved J2534 interface, then reference www.volvotechinfo.com for applicable service information.

Volvo has made available a complete computer system to aid technicians in the repair of Volvo vehicles. VIDA (Vehicle Information and Diagnostics for Aftersales) is a source for parts information, product specifications, fault tracing, diagnostic procedures and vehicle communication services. Along with a subscription to VIDA, the technician will require an approved J2534 pass through device.

Honda’s SAE J2534 software, when used with a J2534 pass-thru device, will automatically check for the latest vehicle calibration information.
